Enerdata’s retrospective of 2025

In 2025, Enerdata implemented several strategic developments to better understand and meet the market expectations. Regarding organisation and resources, we launched a new Business Development team based in Paris and created a Chief Product Officer position; both investments are designed to steer our future development.

In terms of expertise, we have reinforced our Power Market team, invested in new models, and developed several new features within our core competencies. We also launched new offers, such as Power Price Projections or more specialised services (read more hereunder).

Thank you to all our partners, customers and colleagues for these new steps and successes!

Innovative features & projects:

We enhanced our Energy Intelligence and Data Platform with key developments to provide clients with reliable new insights:

  • Power Price Projections: Long-term evolution of day-ahead wholesale electricity prices, built using our proprietary models (POLES-Enerdata and PyPSA-Enerdata) to ensure a 360° approach to European energy markets.
  • H2 and Derivatives Projects Database: Continuous monitoring of hydrogen and derivatives project developments.
  • Carbon Price Projections: Anticipating future carbon costs with reliable forecasts, now covering ETS2.
  • Building Renovation Outlook Reports: Country-specific reports tracking trends, EPCs, and national subsidy schemes for residential buildings.
  • Country Reports: A new design providing customers with more valuable data and analysis, accessible instantaneously.

On the consulting side, Enerdata was commissioned for several contracts to support our customers in addressing various strategic challenges. Amongst them:

  • We performed several market studies to support our clients in developing their market shares. Two of these were dedicated to the deployment of new technologies (BESS and hydrogen).
  • We helped national and local authorities across Europe, Africa and Asia navigate their energy transition scenarios by providing relevant data, insights, or specific projections. For instance, we developed a tailored model for Natural Resources Ministry in Canada to be used in assessing the long-term impacts of their policies and strategies.
  • We led a multi-customer study with several key international companies based in France, aiming at sharing experiences and building methodologies to implement sufficiency-driven approaches. First results to be shared soon!

We invested in internal developments to strengthen our services and support our growth:

  • Frugal IA policy: integrated into our workflows to allow experts to focus on high-level analysis and strategic value creation.
  • ERP implementation: Standardising practices and centralising information to ensure easy access for all teams.
  • Paris office expansion: added three new staff members to be closer to our European partners and clients.

Our major events:

In June, we organised in Paris the presentation of our “Global Energy Data & Trends 2025” attended by representatives from around twenty organisations. Seven experts from various backgrounds participated in four workshops to explore emerging trends and share unique insights. This event once again fostered productive exchanges in a convivial setting, reflecting Enerdata’s fundamental values.

In September, we united our teams from Grenoble, Paris, and Singapore for a two-day seminar in Marseille. The event combined team-building activities, such as a “Koh-Lanta” challenge on the beach, with strategic working sessions – including an open forum on sustaining and accelerating our development – and an inspiring talk from ski-cross champion Ophélie David.

In October, to strengthen our presence in Southeast Asia, a Enerdata delegation attended Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW). We hosted a booth and presented on the evolution of energy demand in the region, before travelling across neighbouring countries to meet prospects and clients to discuss energy transition challenges.

Global Energy Trends 2025Continued growth in energy consumption and emissions

This year our analysts have contextualised Energy data derived from consolidated 2024 statistics against long-term climate targets. They conducted a deep dive into EU27 countries to analyse the underlying drivers of why these nations are struggling to achieve Paris Agreement objectives, despite making greater efforts than other regions.

Power Price Projections: Clarity in a Volatile Market – The power price paradigm

Meeting global climate targets will require not only massive electrification of end-use sectors but also a complete transformation of how electricity is produced, financed, and traded. This analysis provides insights into electricity market trends and grid impacts within a new European paradigm characterised by high volatility and a surge in negative price events.

What future for emission trading in the EU – 2026-2027: Critical milestones ahead for European carbon markets

While emissions covered by the EU ETS have fallen by 46% since 2005, the next two years will be pivotal. Our report explores the upcoming revisions of the ETS directive, the Market Stability Reserve, and the introduction of ETS2, which will incorporate road transport, buildings, and SMEs.
