The Indian group Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (MPUVNL) has launched a tender to develop 1.2 GW of grid-connected solar power projects for agricultural feeders, to be built in India’s Madhya Pradesh State. Bids can be submitted until 25 June 2025. The tender is being floated under the feeder solarisation component of India’s Surya Mitra Krishi Feeders programme. The power generated from these solar plants will be sold to the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company.
In February 2025, MPUVNL invited bids to set up 1.5 GW of solar projects in Madhya Pradesh under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Saraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan programme.
India plans to increase its non-fossil fuel capacity to 500 GW by 2030.
