Türkiye plan to allocate 2 GW of renewable capacity in upcoming YEKA tenders

Türkiye has announced the upcoming launch of its Renewable Energy Resource Areas (YEKA) tenders, which are expected to allocate 2 GW of wind and solar capacity across 12 provinces. The tenders will be launched in November and December 2025, auctioning six wind projects (1.15 GW) with projects raging from 110 MW to 500 MW, and nine solar projects (850 MW) ranging from 40 MW to 260 MW. The auctions will use an open reverse-bidding method based on a guaranteed electricity purchase price in euros, starting at €55/MWh with floor prices set at €35/MWh for wind and €32.5/MWh for solar. The auctions are expected to attract about US$3.3bn in investments that will help to cut reliance on imported energy, expand domestic clean power use and strengthen the country’s renewable manufacturing base.

Additionally, Türkiye also announced a 35 MW floating solar installation planned in Manisa's Demirkopru Dam reservoir, the installation of 14,700 km of HVDC lines (40 GW of capacity) and 15,000 km of alternating current lines, aiming to increase the country’s interconnection capacity to 6,750 MW for exports and 6,600 MW for imports.
