Thailand’s EGAT seeks bidders for 364 MW of floating solar

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), the Thai state-owned power utility, has opened a tender to build a 364 MW floating solar project at the Srinagarind Dam in western Thailand, home to one of the company’s power plant. The project should not be less than 363.95 MW and more than 364 MW, featuring crystalline silicon solar PV modules, floating PV system, anchoring and mooring system, 33 kV electrical system and transmission lines, control and monitoring system and related software systems.

The selected developer will be in charge of design, procurement, manufacture, fabrication, shop tests, supply, delivery to Site, insurance, project management, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, plant start-up, on-site training, plant guarantee and guarantee of the Equipment, and Civil Works. This project is financed by EGAT's Fund. Solar accounts for 7% of Thailand’s installed capacity, with 3.4 GW. Around 200 MW solar capacity is currently under construction, and more than 5.9 GW under development.
