The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur or BNetzA) has released the results of the latest round of tenders for 3,210 MW of onshore wind projects, with a bid deadline on 1 February 2023. The auction attracted 126 bids totalling 1,502 MW. After excluding 7 bids due to formal errors, the regulator selected 119 proposals with prices ranging between €7.24c/kWh and the maximum permissible value of €7.35c/kWh. The volume-weighted average reached €7.34c/kWh (+25% compared to the previous round). Most of the projects will be developed in North Rhine-Westphalia (387 MW, 40 awards) and Lower Saxony (354 MW, 16 awards).
In addition, the regulator received 94 bids totalling 213 MW for a rooftop solar auction with a tendered volume of 217 MW. 7 bids were excluded and 87 projects totalling 195 MW were accepted, with prices ranging from €9c/kWh to €11.25c/kWh. The volume-weighted average reached €10.87c/kWh (+24% compared to the previous round).
Most contracts were awarded to projects in North Rhine-Westphalia (36 MW, 16 projects), followed by Brandenburg (20 MW, 11 projects), Baden-Württemberg (19 MW, 9 projects) and Bavaria (19 MW, 8 projects).
