Spanish renewables company Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente has secured approval for 1,090 MWh of battery storage projects at 16 solar PV plants located in the Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León regions of Spain (Solaria press release, 18/02/2026).
"These authorisations are in addition to the 780 MWh at the Garoña complex (710 MW) and the 908 MWh from 11 plants in Castilla la Mancha and Castilla y León previously approved", according to the company. This approval brings Solaria's total approved BESS capacity in Spain to nearly 3 GWh. The company previously announced the purchase of 516 MWh of batteries from an undisclosed supplier.
