SECI awards over 11 GW on renewable projects in latest auctions (India)

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has awarded over 11 GW of solar, hybrid and wind Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) capacity under its Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) schemes (SECI press release, 17/02/2026). 

  • In concrete, SECI awarded 1.2 GW under its ISTS Tranche-XXI Solar + BESS auction at tariffs going from INR3.12 to INR3.13/kWh (USD0.03/kWh), with NLC India Renewables Limited, Engie Energy India, RPIL Power Three, and Oriana Power as the key winners. 
  • Under its ISTS Tranche-XX Solar + BESS, the company awarded 2 GW at tariffs rounding INR2.9/kWh (USD0.02/kWh) to Welspun Renewable Energy, Shivalaya Construction, Purvah Green Power, and SAEL Industries, among others. Companies awarded under this category are expected to supply additional power during evening peak hours. 
  • Another 500 MW solar+BESS project developed by JSW Neo Energy was selected under the ISTS Tranche-XV Scheme, while two 300 MW solar projects were selected under the ISTS Tranche-XIV Scheme.
  • Within the manufacturing-linked solar category that aims to support the sector while adding new generation capacity, SECI also awarded almost 2.4 GW, mainly to Azure Power India and Adani Green Energy Four Limited.

The company also awarded hybrid projects under the schemes Hybrid Tranche-VIII and IX, allocating 1.8 GW at tariffs ranging INR3.25 and INR3.46/kWh (around USD0.03/kWh) to JSW Neo Energy, ACME Solar Holdings, Juniper Green Energy, AMPIN Energy Utility, and Avaada Energy. Another 410 MW was allocated to three projects under the ISTS Hybrid Tranche-VI Scheme.

1.2 GW of wind capacity was awarded under the ISTS Wind Tranche-XIX auction to developers such as KP Energy, Waaree Forever Energies, and Vena Energy Aura.

Under the ISTS FDRE-VI and VII Schemes, the SECI awarded 1.4 GW in projects from Serentica Renewables, ACME Solar Holdings, and Adyant Enersol to guarantee electricity during non-solar hours.
