The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has selected five projects in its latest 1,200 MW Interstate Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar auction: three 300 MW projects proposed by Ayana (CDC Group), ReNew and Azure at a price of INR 2.54/kWh (US$3.66c/kWh) were selected, along with a 250 MW project proposed by Mahindra also at a price of INR 2.54/kWh and a 50 MW project proposed by Avaada at a price of INR 2.55/kWh (US$3.67c/kWh). Avaada had submitted a bid for 350 MW but was only awarded 50 MW. SB Energy (part of the Softbank group) had submitted a 300 MW solar project at a cost of INR 2.55/kWh, which was deemed too high.
In February 2019, SECI selected ReNew Power, Azure Power, Eden Renewable and SBSR Power (Softbank) to develop 300 MW solar projects. They submitted bids ranging between INR2.55/kWh (US$3.67c/kWh) and INR2.61c/kWh (US$3.76c/kWh). The awarded capacities will be connected to the Interstate Transmission system (ISTS).
