Saudi Arabia has announced the list of qualified bidders for the seventh round of renewable energy projects under the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) (Saudi Gulf Projects, 06/01/2026). This round, managed by the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC), includes solar PV and wind projects totalling 5.3 GW:
- The solar PV projects in Round Seven are spread across multiple regions: Tabarjal II Solar PV IPP (1.4 GW) in Al Jouf; Mawqaq Solar PV IPP (600 MW) in Hail; Tathleeth Solar PV IPP (600 MW) in Aseer; and South Al Ula Solar PV IPP (500 MW) in the Madinah region.
- The wind portfolio comprises two projects in the Madinah region: Bilghah Wind IPP (1.3 GW) and Shagran Wind IPP (900 MW), together totalling 2.2 GW.
SPPC’s list of qualified bidders for the solar PV projects includes 22 companies, among them Masdar, EDF, Engie, Sembcorp Utilities, Jinko Power (HK), TotalEnergies Renewables, KEPCO, SPIC Shanghai Electric Power Company, alongside local developers. The list of qualified developers for the wind IPPs also includes a mix of international and local players, such as Masdar, Alfanar Company, EDF, Engie, Marubeni Corporation, PowerChina, Sembcorp Utilities, and TotalEnergies Renewables.
