Repdo shortlists 25 companies for the 400 MW Dumat Al Jandal wind project (Saudi Arabia)

Saudi Arabia's Renewable Energy Project Development Office (REPDO) has shortlisted 25 companies to bid for the 400 MW Dumat Al Jandal wind project in Al Jouf region (Saudi Arabia). The tender was launched in July 2017 and the project will be backed by 25 and 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs). The request for proposals (RfP) qualifies several companies such as EDF Energies Nouvelles, Engie, Enel Green Power, General Electric (GE), Kepco, Siemens Project Ventures and Marubeni.

This wind project fits in the framework of the Saudi Arabian National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), by which the government is implementing its Vision 2030 programme and aims to produce 10% of its power from renewable sources by 2023 (around 30 solar and wind projects with an expected installed capacity of 9.5 GW). 3.45 GW are already planned for 2020 under the framework of the National Transformation Program (NTP).
