Rajasthan Solar Park Development Company Ltd (RSDCL), a subsidiary of the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation, has invited bids for the development of up to 2,450 MW of solar PV capacity coupled with 1,600 MW/6,400 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) at the Pugal Solar Park in Bikaner, Rajasthan (India). Bids are due by 9 March 2026. The projects will be developed in two lots, for 2 GW of solar and 1.32 GW/5.28 GWh BESS (eight plots of 250 MW each) on the one hand, and for 450 MW of solar (2 plots of 225 MW each) and 280 MW/1,120 MWh on the other hand. Commissioning is expected within 24 months after the effective date of the power purchase agreement (PPA).
In October 2025, the state company Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL) awarded a 1 GW/2 GWh state standalone BESS tender under a viability gap funding (VGF) scheme, followed by a successful tender for 500 MW/2000 MWh standalone BESS in November 2025.
