Punjab (India) initiates tender for 1 GW of grid-connected solar projects

Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL), the regional state-owned power utility of the state government of Punjab (India), is seeking bidders, through a request for selection (RfS) to develop 1 GW of grid-connected solar projects via a long-term tariff-based competitive bidding process. Bids are open until 2022 and successful bidders will be selected via a reverse auction scheduled on 25 June 2022. Successful bidders are required to set up the solar project, which can be installed anywhere in India, and the transmission network up to the delivery point. Each project, which can be under construction, not yet commissioned or already commissioned without any long-term PPA, must have a minimum capacity of 50 MW and bids must be submitted in multiples of 10 MW, with a maximum capacity of 1,000 MW. PSPCL will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with successful bidders for 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date of the project.
