Poland will hold its 2025 renewable auctions for 75.9 TWh in early July 2025

The Polish energy regulator URE has announced that Poland will hold its 2025 renewable energy auctions in the period from 1 July 2025 to 9 July 2025. URE plans to allocate a total of 75.9 TWh of energy in contracts worth PLN31bn (€7.2bn).

The first sessions (1 and 2 July) will be sessions for installations using landfill biogas, biogas from sewage treatment plants and other biogas, for dedicated biomass combustion installations, hybrid systems, thermal waste treatment installations, including high-efficiency cogeneration, as well as for dedicated multi-fuel combustion installations. They should procure over 23.6 TWh.

On 3 July, electricity generators using only agricultural biogas, including high-efficiency cogeneration, in installations with an installed capacity of more than 1 MW, will join the auction, procuring another 5.8 TWh. Auctions dedicated to hydropower, bioliquids and geothermal energy sources are scheduled for 4 and 7 July, in baskets with an installed electrical capacity of no more than 1 MW and more than 1 MW.

The last sessions will be dedicated to solar PV and onshore wind installations and will be carried out in two baskets (with an installed electrical capacity of no more than 1 MW and over 1 MW) on 8 and 9 July, procuring over 43 TWh.
