The Polish energy regulator URE has released the results of its first auction for offshore wind parks, which offered 4 GW of offshore wind capacity (URE press release, 18/12/2025). Four companies bidded in the auction and three were selected, securing a total capacity of 3,435 MW. The selected projects are Polenergia's 1,560 MW MFW Bałtyk I project, PGE's 975 MW Baltica 9 project, and Orlen's 900 MW Baltic East project. The auction offers developers 25-year contracts with fixed prices ranging from PLN486/MWh to PLN512/MWh (€115-122/MWh). As part of the winning bids, the minimum price offered was PLN476.88/MWh, and the highest was PLN492.32/MWh (€113/MWh to €/117MWh). The three projects are expected to be connected to the grid and to start supplying power within 7 years, i.e., by the end of 2032, for the 25-year support period to begin.
The 975 MW Baltica 9 project is located in the western part of the Słupsk Bank, in one of the five areas awarded to PGE in 2023, adjacent to RWE's 350 MW FEW Baltic II offshore wind project. RWE has just signed an agreement with PGE for the sale of this 350 MW project, which will now be further developed by PGE, and will raise the combined capacity to over 1.3 GW. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
