Marubeni Corporation in partnership with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has received contracts to supply equipment for three combined cycle electric power projects in South Korea. The projects have a collective power generation capacity of around 3,800 MW.
The joint partnership will supply two M501J (J-Series) gas turbines, one steam turbine and generators for the 950 MW Pyeongtaek power plant, being built in Gyeonggi-do by Korea Western Power (KOWEPO), a subsidiary of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
The companies will also supply four J-Series gas turbines, two steam turbines and generators for the 1,900 MW Dongducheon power plant also located in Gyeonggi-do.
Marubeni received its third order with MHI and Daelim Industrial for the engineering, procurement and delivery of equipment for the 950 MW Ulsan 4 power plant in Ulsan Metropolitan City. The order includes two J-Series gas turbines, a steam turbine and generators and the construction and installation work, on a full turn-key basis.
