NTPC launches a tender for 1.2 GW of solar in Gujarat (India)

NTPC, through its affiliate NTPC Renewable Energy, has initiated a tender for the balance of system (BOS) package for a 1,200 MW (4 X 300 MW) solar project at Khavda RE power park, Rann of Kutch, Gujarat (India). The scope of work of this auction comprises detailed designing, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of the project. Bids are open until 9 January 2023.

Earlier in November 2022, NTPC launched bids for land and an extra high voltage (EHV) transmission system package to develop interstate transmission system-connected solar power projects for a capacity of 2 GW, in the state of Rajasthan (western India).

At the end of 2021, at the national level, solar and wind accounted for nearly 20% of installed capacity in India, with respectively 49 GW and 40 GW. The country aims to develop 175 GW of renewable capacity by the end of 2022, including 100 GW of solar.
