The Netherlands selects 2.2 GW of solar PV projects in SDE++ round

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland, RVO), in charge of the Sustainable Energy Production and Climate Transition Incentive Scheme (SDE++) 2022 with a €13bn budget, has received 2,296 subsidy applications worth €13.8bn. Most of the applications (90%) were for subsidies for solar PV and the RVO accepted 2,052 renewable projects with a combined capacity of 2,344 MW and a total budget of €1,262m, including 1,944 rooftop PV installations (1,275 MW, €747m), 77 ground-mounted solar projects (955 MW, €387m), 20 floating solar projects (38 MW, €20m) and 11 wind projects (75 MW, €108m). Project developers could apply for a maximum of 37.5 TWh of renewable electricity generation on land (solar PV and wind) but this production ceiling has not been reached.

Most of the budget was requested for CO2 capture and storage (CCS) and CO2 capture and utilisation (CCU) projects (24 projects totalling €7.89bn) and for geothermal projects (€2.5bn).
