MSEB invites bids for 978 MW of solar capacity in Maharashtra (India)

MSEB Agro Solar Power, a subsidiary of the Indian company MSEB Holding Company, has simultaneously launched five tenders to develop 978 MW of solar power in the State of Maharashtra (central India). The tenders were floated under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana scheme. Bids for all the tenders can be submitted until 21 October 2023.

The tenders have been floated for 159 MW in the Kolhapur district, 186 MW in the Sangli district, 200 MW in the Satara district, 211 MW in the Yavatmal district, and 222 MW in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District.

At the end of 2022, solar and wind accounted for 22% of installed capacity in India, with respectively 63 GW and 42 GW, while hydropower capacity surpassed 51 GW. India plans to increase its non-fossil fuel capacity to 500 GW and meet 50% of its energy requirements from renewables by 2030.
