Morocco launches tender for the development of 400 MW of wind power

The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen) has launched a pre-qualification round in a tender for the construction and operation of the 400 MW Nassim Nord wind complex in northern Morocco. The tender will select a company to finance, build and operate two wind farms. Bids can be submitted until 24 June 2024.

The Nassim Nord complex will consist of the 150 MW Koudia Al Baida wind project in the northern provinces of Fahs Anjra and M'diq-Fnideq, and the 250 MW Nassim Dar Chaoui that will be located in the Tangier and Tetouan provinces.

By 2030, Morocco aims to reach 4 GW of solar capacity and 2.2 GW of wind capacity. Morocco aims to raise the share of renewables in the power mix to 52% in 2030 (12% from hydropower and 20% each for solar and wind) and 80% by 2050.
