The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Malaysia has launched the fourth round of its Large Scale Solar (LSS) procurement scheme, offering 1 GW of new solar capacity to be developed. Each project developer will be allowed to submit up to three bids and the maximum project size will be halved from 100 MW to 50 MW, in order to have more developers participating in the tender. 500 MW will be reserved to solar power projects ranging between 10 MW and 30 MW and the remaining 500 MW for projects between 30 and 50 MW. The winning projects will have to be connected to the grid by the end of 2023.
