Italy awards only 6% of the offered capacity in a 2.3 GW renewable tender

The Italian energy agency Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE) has published the results of the tenth auction for renewable capacity under the country’s new renewable support scheme. A total quota of 2,321 MW was offered but the call for projects was largely under-subscribed, with only 162 MW of bids submitted (7% of the available capacity). In total, the country allocated only 145 MW of capacity (6% of the available capacity). The previous tender, held in September 2022, was 18% subscribed with 520 MW awarded for a total capacity of 2,857 MW.
