The Italian energy agency Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE) has awarded 520 MW of renewable capacity in Italy's ninth renewable energy auction. The auction was undersubscribed, as only 18% of the 2,857 MW quota was awarded.
It awarded 413 MW of wind and solar capacity for projects above 1 MW. The auction was undersubscribed, as only 18% of the 2,857 MW quota was awarded. 294 MW of solar capacity was awarded across 42 projects ranging from 1.5 MW to 86 MW (the latter was awarded to the Italian company ACEA Solar). 119 MW of wind capacity was awarded across 4 projects ranging from 21 MW to 55 MW (the latter was awarded to ERD Wind Energy).
GSE awarded 444 MW of renewable capacity for its eight auction in June 2022 (only 13% of the available capacity).
