Indian company IRCON Renewable Power has invited domestic bids to set up 500 MW of grid-connected solar power projects, as well as a 220 kV substation, in Pavagada, located in the Indian state of Karnataka (central India).
Successful bidders must oversee the project’s operation and maintenance for 3 years, and the scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning. Bids can be submitted until 20 September 2022. Bidders must submit a INR115m (US$1.5m) deposit and must furnish a contract performance security performance of 3% of the contract price within 28 days of the award notification. The awarded projects must be completed within 17 months.
Solar accounts for 12% of India’s installed capacity, with 49.3 GW (end-2021). Since 2016, India has commissioned on average 7.4 GW/year of solar projects, including a record 11.9 GW in 2021. The country aims to develop 175 GW of renewable power capacity by 2022, including 100 GW of solar.
