The Russian utility Inter RAO has commissioned a new 861 MW steam-gas generating unit at the Permskaya state district power plant (SDPP) located in the city of Dobryanka (Russia). The main equipment of the new generating unit encompasses two gas turbines and a steam turbine with Siemens generators and two heat recovery boilers from the Russian machine-building company EMAlliance. As a result, the installed capacity of the Permskaya SDPP has increased by one third up to 3,261 MW.
The unit is expected to supply the neighbouring industries, namely chemical, ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, timber processing and mining enterprises located in the Kama region (Russia). The Perm region will be able to boost power exports to the neighbouring regions such as the Sverdlovsk and Kirov regions, Udmurtia and Bashkortostan.
The Permskaya Thermal Power Plant was originally commissioned in 1986 and now has three steam power units 800 MW each and one steam-gas unit with a capacity of 861 MW.
