Iberdrola has reported a 17% increase in net profit, reaching €5.6bn in earnings (before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) for 2024, driven by record investments of €17bn (+50%), including €12bn in organic investments (+5%) and €5bn in corporate transactions (ENW and Avangrid minorities). The US and the UK received 70% of the company’s investment. Iberdrola's investments focused on networks (€11.2bn, mainly in the US and the UK) and on renewables (€5.5bn), adding 2.6 GW of renewable capacity in 2024 and expanding its project pipeline to over 44 GW. Iberdrola has allocated €9.2bn to projects in construction, of which 80% are expected to be commissioned in 2025 and 2026. Iberdrola is expecting to continue growing its net profit during 2025, planning to maintain its focus on grids and selective renewable projects.
In 2024, Iberdrola had an installed capacity of 56.7 GW (-9.9%), including 31.8 GW in Spain (+3.1%), and generated 132.5 TWh of electricity (-21%), of which 62 TWh were in Spain (+1.3%). The group supplied 99 TWh of electricity (-1.9%) and 40.6 TWh of gas (-5.9%) to 31.5 million customers worldwide. In Spain, it supplied 87.5 TWh of electricity (+1.4%) and 22.1 TWh of gas (-11%) to 23.2 million customers (+4.5%).
