The Indian State-owned power company Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) has completed the auction process for its 2 GW/4 GWh standalone battery energy storage (BESS) project in Gujarat (western India). A total of nine winners emerged from the bidding.
India’s Ultimate Flexipack secured the largest capacity with 450 MW/900 MWh. Among the other winners:
- Sun Drops Energia secured 445 MW/890 MWh.
- Engie Energy India won 280 MW/560 MWh.
- Stockwell Solar Services secured 130 MW/260 MWh.
- Samavist Energy Solutions won 100 MW/200 MWh.
- MECPOWER Solutions, Solar91 Cleantech, Viviana Power Tech, and Rajesh Power Services each secured 65 MW/130 MWh.
GUVNL had issued the tender in July 2025. The project will be supported through viability gap funding up to INR18 lakh (around US$203/MWh), from the Power System Development Fund.
