The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has awarded licences to build 677 MW of renewable projects, under its first innovation tender that allowed bids coupling renewable energy systems and storage. The parastatal received bids totalling 1,095 MW for the 650 MW on offer. A total of 73 bids were successful totalling 677 MW, including 28 plant combinations with a total capacity of 394 MW; 27 plant combinations were solar-plus-storage projects. Prices for combined projects ranged from €19.4/MWh to €55.2/MWh. The volume-weighted average reached €45/MWh.
In addition, an onshore wind tender for 367 MW attracted 25 bids totalling 310 MW, with prices ranging from €61.7/MWh to €62/MWh and a solar tender for 257 MW attracted 163 bids for 675 MW. The agency accepted 75 bids for 258 MW, with prices ranging from €48MWh to €53.9/MWh. The volume-weighted average was €52.2/MWh.
