The German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has launched a new tender offering support for the development of 2,495 MW of new onshore wind projects (German government press release, 28/09/2026). Eligible projects include those that have been given permits by 5 October 2026 and reported in the Market Master Data Register, as well as projects that have already secured awards if their installed capacity is raised by at least 15%. Interested parties may send their bids before 2 November 2026, for which the maximum allowed value is EUR7.25c/kWh.
The previous onshore wind tender awarded 237 bids totalling 2,523 MW, with prices ranging from EUR4.49c/kWh to EUR4.98c/kWh with an average volume-weighted award price of EUR4.79c/kWh.
According to Enerdata’s Global Energy and CO2 Data service, onshore wind capacity accounted for almost a quarter of Germany’s installed capacity in 2025, with 64 GW.
