Germany’s Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has launched the third onshore wind tender of 2025, aiming to award support for 3.44 GW of capacity. Developers have until August 1 to submit their bids. The maximum bid value for this round is set at €7.35c/kWh. To be eligible, projects must have obtained permits under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and be registered in the national register by July 4, 2025.
For 2025, Germany has set a total tender volume of 10 GW for onshore wind, distributed across four bidding rounds. In the first round, contracts were awarded for 4,094 MW. The results of the second round, which offered 3,443 MW, have not yet been published.
According to its NECP, Germany aims to reach 115 GW of onshore wind capacity by 2030 and 160 GW by 2040. At the end of 2024, the country’s installed onshore wind capacity stood at 62 GW.
