The German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has launched two tenders to develop almost 2.5 GW of onshore wind capacities and 475 MW of innovative installations combining different technologies (BNetzA press release, 27/03/2026).
The maximum bidding value for onshore wind has been set at EUR7.25c/kWh, above the awarded price during the last onshore wind tender. Germany plans to allocate a total of 10 GW of onshore wind in 2026, evenly distributed over four tenders, although the volume may vary if the BNetzA expects to receive bids for a volume greater than the previously planned. Germany’s last onshore wind tender awarded 415 projects with a combined capacity of 3,456 MW.
For innovation projects, the maximum bid price is of EUR7.13c/kWh, and solar components of the combined projects (if applicable) should not surpass the 20 MW. The country plans to allocate a total capacity of 950 MW across innovation projects during 2026, equally distributed over two tenders.
Bidders for both tenders are expected to have already been granted permits and entered into the market register before 7 April 2026 and the deadline to submit bids is on 4 May 2026.
