The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has launched a new tender, which seeks to add 1.95 GW of solar PV capacity across Germany. The deadline for the bids has been set to 1 March 2023, with a maximum bidding price set at €7.37c/kWh.
Bids for this tender will be applicable on arable land and grassland in disadvantaged areas, with each region (Land) being allocated a maximum quota. Quotas range between 500 MW for Baden-Württemberg region and 35 MW for Hesse. Among other Länder that were awarded an important quota, North Rhine-Westphalia was awarded 300 MW and Rhineland-Palatinate 200 MW.
Ahead of the launch of the new tender, the German Federal Network Agency increased the price cap for ground-mounted solar tenders to €7.37c/kWh in an attempt to attract more interest in the auction. Germany plans to tender a total of 5.85 GW of solar capacity in 2023.
