The German energy regulator Bundesnetzagentur (BNA, Federal Network Agency) has launched the first mutually opened auction for 50 MW of ground-mounted solar PV installations in cooperation with Denmark; PV installations in Denmark can participate in a German auction alongside photovoltaic installations from Germany.
Investors will have until 23 November 2016 to submit bids (up to 10 MW) for this auction to the BNA. Bids will relate to the amount of funding per kWh (the "value to be applied") for an installation, with a maximum bid of €11.09c/kWh. The winning bids will be determined by the level of the bid, irrespectively of the location of the installation.
This auction is being organised in addition to the next scheduled national auction round, for which bids of PV projects in Germany can be submitted up to 1 December 2016. Bidders are allowed to submit bids for both auctions and can withdraw their bids for the December auction if they are selected in the November round. Denmark is also planning an auction for ground-mounted photovoltaic installations in 2016 in which bids from sites in Germany can also participate.
