Germany’s Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has announced the results of its latest tender for onshore wind, which was oversubscribed. 506 bids with a capacity of 4,896 MW were submitted out of an original tendered quantity of 4,094 MW. 422 bids with a combined capacity of 4,094 MW were eventually accepted by the Bundesnetzagentur.
The values of the successful bids range from €5.62c/kWh to €7.13c/kWh. The average price stood at €7.00c/kWh, compared to €7.15c/kWh in the previous round. The largest volumes of awards were for sites in North Rhine-Westphalia (145 awards, 1,266 MW), Lower Saxony (49 awards, 475 MW), Brandenburg (43 awards, 443 MW) and Saxony-Anhalt (34 awards, 334 MW). In its previous onshore wind tender (December 2024), which was also oversubscribed, the Federal Network Agency awarded 4,098 MW of onshore wind (348 bids).
In addition, a tender for 315 MW of solar systems on buildings and noise barriers was oversubscribed by 1.2 times, attracting 169 bids totalling 369 MW; 143 bids totalling 317 MW were awarded a contract, at an average price of €9.1c/kWh (between €7.9c/kWh and €9.69c/kWh).
