The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has published the results of its onshore wind tender from November 2025 (Bundesnetzagentur press release, 08/01/2025).
- A total of 3,456 MW were allocated from 415 bids, while the procurement aimed to allocate 3,450 MW and attracted 905 submitted bids with a capacity of almost 8.2 GW (the highest value received to date).
- The awarded bids had an average of €6.06c/kWh, a lowest value compared to that seen in the previous tender round €6.57c/kWh, and well below of the maximum value allowed €7.35c/kWh.
- Most of the awarded bids were from projects in North Rhine-Westphalia (1,093 MW, 148 awards), Lower Saxony (1,091 MW, 133 awards), and Brandenburg (262 MW, 34 awards).
Germany aims to reach 115 GW of onshore wind capacity by 2030 and 160 GW by 2040. As of the end of 2024, the country has an installed capacity of 62 GW (Enerdata Global Energy Data).
