Germany’s Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has announced the results of its latest tender for onshore wind, which was oversubscribed for the first time since February 2022. 239 bids with a capacity of 2,961 MW were submitted out of an original tendered quantity of 2,709 MW. 230 bids with a combined capacity of 2,723 MW were eventually accepted by the Bundesnetzagentur.
The values of the successful bids range from €5.73c/kWh to the maximum permissible value of €7.35c/kWh. The average price stood at €7.33c/kWh, compared to €7.34c/kWh in the previous round. The largest volumes of awards were for sites in North Rhine-Westphalia (84 awards, 756 MW), Brandenburg (23 awards, 385 MW), Schleswig-Holstein (24 awards, 285 MW), Hesse (8 awards, 246 MW) and Lower Saxony (24 awards, 237 MW).
In its previous onshore wind tenders (March 2024 and July 2024), which were under-subscribed, the Federal Network Agency awarded 1,836 MW of onshore wind (129 bids) and 2,379 MW (189 bids).
