The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has released the results of a tender for 1,611 MW of ground-mounted PV systems. The tender was largely oversubscribed, with 516 bids totalling 4,653 MW of solar capacity. 214 bids with a total volume of 1,673 MW were accepted. The values determined in the bidding price procedure ranged between €5.39c/kWh and €6.65c/kWh, with a ceiling tariff of €7.37c/kWh. The average price stood at €6.47c/kWh, compared to €7.03c/kWh in the previous round (-8%).
Bids with locations in Bavaria (741 MW, 65 bids) account for the largest volume awarded, followed by projects in Lower Saxony (169 MW, 6 bids) and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (147 MW, 9 bids). By category, most contracts were awarded to projects on arable land or grassland (907 MW, 63 bids), followed by edges of motorways and railways (681 MW, 50 bids). The next round of tenders for solar systems is scheduled for 1 December 2023.
