The German energy regulator Bundesnetzagentur (BNA) has announced the results of the solar tender for ground-mounted systems (first segment) with a bid deadline of 1 November 2022. A total capacity of 890 MW was offered in the tender, which was undersubscribed due to binding ordering of modules and unpredictable prices. Consequently, the tender only attracted 117 bids totalling 677 MW and 104 bids totalling 609 MW were accepted, with an average volume-weighted award value of €5.80c/kWh (above the value of the previous round, i.e., €5.51c/kWh).
Most of the selected ground-mounted projects will be built on arable land or grassland (49 bids, totalling 310 MW) and on motorways or railways (32 bids, 152 MW). The projects will be located in Bavaria (307 MW), in Baden-Württemberg (67 MW) and Brandenburg (66 MW).
The next round of tenders for solar systems in the first segment (ground-mounted systems) is expected on 1 March 2023.
