Equinor, RWE, a consortium of BP and EnBW, and a consortium of SSE Renewables, Marubeni Corporation and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) have submitted bids the ScotWind offshore leasing round in Scotland (United Kingdom). The ScotWind leasing round is part of the Scottish government's plan to reach up to 11 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030. An area of 8,600 km2 of Scottish seabed is potentially available for the development of 10 GW of offshore wind capacity. The closing date for submitting applications was 16 July 2021 and the results will be announced in early 2022.
Five other consortiums had already publicly announced their intention to bid for sites in the tender, namely:
- ScottishPower (Iberdrola) / Shell
- Red Rock Power (SDIC) / Eni
- Ørsted / Falck Renewables / BlueFloat Energy,
- Ocean Winds (50/50 JV between EDPR and Engie) / Aker Offshore Wind,
- TotalEnergies / Macquarie Green Investment Group (GIG) / Renewable Infrastructure Development Group (RIDG).
