EnBW and Siemens join force for Kriegers Flak wind project (Denmark)

German utility EnBW has joined forces with DEME Concessions Wind and Siemens Financial Services to develop the proposed Kriegers Flak offshore wind project in Denmark. EnBW will retain 50% of the project and sell 32.5% to Siemens Financial Services and 17.5% to DEME Concessions Wind.

The Kriegers Flak offshore wind project will have a capacity of between 590 and 610 MW. In October 2015, the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) prequalified the Kriegers Flag ApS project company (owned by EnBW). Other pre-qualified companies are Kriegers Flak SPV (joint venture of Wpd HOFOR and Stadtwerke München); European Energy Offshore Consortium (owned by European Energy and Boralex); Vattenfall (project company yet to create); Kriegers Flak Offshore Wind I/S (a not yet established company by Statoil and E.ON); ScottishPower Renewable and DONG Energy.

The final binding offer must be submitted by 8 November 2016. The successful tenderer should be awarded the concession by the end of the year. Subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities, the construction and commissioning of the wind farm will follow in the period up to 2021.
