EDF and Total have entered into exclusive negotiations with two groups of investors for the sale of their interests (65.01% for EDF and 9.99% for Total) in the Dunkerque LNG terminal located in Dunkirk (northern France). The stakes will be sold to two consortia, one including Fluxys Europe AXA Investment Managers and Crédit Agricole Assurances, while the other is composed of Samsung Securities, IBK Securities and Hanwha Investment & Securities. Once the transaction is complete, the two consortia will acquire respectively 35.76% and 39.24% of the regasification facility. Fluxys Europe will retain its 25% interest and the acquisition will enable the group to take control of the terminal, in line with its global growth strategy in gas infrastructures.
The Dunkerque LNG terminal entered commercial operation on 1 January 2017 and is one of Europe's largest regasification terminals with an annual regasification capacity of 13 bcm and is connected to both consumption markets of France and Belgium.
