DONG Energy valued at €13bn after IPO (Denmark)

Danish energy group DONG Energy has completed its initial public offering (IPO), selling 17.4% of its share capital at a final price of DKK 235 (€31.5) per share, which values the group at DKK 98.2bn (€13.1bn).

Following the IPO, the share of the Danish state declined from 58.8% to 50.4% of the group, while that of New Energy Investment (Goldman Sachs Group) reduced from 17.9% to 14.7%, that of SEAS-NVE from 10.8% to 9.6% and that of ATP from 4.9% to 4%. New investors acquired 17.4%, while other investors hold 3.9%. DONG Energy is now listed on the Nasdaq Copenhagen stock exchange and its shares soared by 10% on its first floatation day.

The proceeds from the IPO are expected to support DONG Energy’s future growth and strategy, advance its international profile and provide DONG Energy with improved access to public capital markets and a diversified base of new Danish and international shareholders.
