Seven bids with totaling 135 MW onshore wind turbines and 136 MW solar PV installations have been received by the Danish Energy Agency for its last technology-neutral renewable tender for onshore wind, "open-door" offshore wind and solar PV projects, which ended on 27 November 2019.
Seven contracts are expected to be signed, including 2 contracts with 72 MW onshore turbines, 2 contracts with 97 MW onshore turbines and solar PV installations and 3 contracts with 83 MW PV installations. The weighted average price premium of the winning bids is DKK 1.54 øre /kWh (€0.21c/kWh). A price premium will be given as a fixed price supplement on top of the electricity price for 20 years. A total of DKK 258m (€34.5m) has been allocated for the tender, with a bud cap set as low as DKK 0.06 øre/kWh (less than €0.01c/kW).
The first technology neutral tender in Denmark was held in 2018 and received in total 17 bids for around 260 MW of onshore wind capacity and around 280 MW of solar PV installations. The weighted average price premium of the winning bids reached DKK 2.27 øre/kWh (around €0.31c/kWh). A total of 6 contracts were awarded for 3 onshore wind projects (165 MW) and 3 solar PV projects (101 MW).
