The Croatian Energy Market Operator (HROTE), which operates the wholesale electricity market and incentivises the development of renewables, has launched an auction for 630 MW of renewable power capacity, including 300 MW of solar PV (projects above 500 kW), 300 MW of wind (projects above 3 MW), 10 MW of geothermal power (projects above 500 kW), 8 MW of biomass (projects between 500 kW and 5 MW), 8 MW of biogas (projects between 500 kW and 2 MW) and 4 MW of small hydropower (projects between 500 kW and 10 MW).

The auction includes ceiling prices, ranging between HRK 460.91/MWh (€61.1/MWh) for wind and HRK 1,482.23/MWh (€196.5/MWh) for biogas.
