The Argentinean province of Cordoba has launched a tender to connect up to 100 MW/500 MWh of new BESS projects (Argentinean government, 06/04/2026). It aims to award three projects, 40 MW/200 MWh BESS Isla Verde, 30 MW/150 MWh BESS Villa Maria, and 30 MW/150 MWh BESS Bialet Massé.
The call has been launched through the province’s state-owned utility, Empresa Provincial de Energía de Córdoba (EPEC), and it seeks to select projects to be later registered in the national energy storage auction scheme AlmaSADI. To participate, projects must range between 10 MW and 150 MW of capacity, and they must be developed by the bidder under a construction, administration and transfer model.
In March 2026, Argentina opened the AlmaSADI, a national and international tender for developing 700 MW of BESS projects in strategic nodes in the Argentine regions NOA, NEA, Centro, Litoral, Cuyo and the province of Buenos Aires, excluding the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA). A similar tender, the AlmaGBA, had awarded in September 2025 ten BESS projects (713 MW) within the AMBA.
