The Brazilian Power Trading Chamber (CCEE) has awarded 948 MW of supply contracts under the A4 renewable tender, including 409 MW of biomass, 190 MW of hydro, 183 MW of wind, 166 MW of solar.
Power supply, which will feed distributors in the regulated market, must start on 1 January 2026. The contracts awarded represent more than BRL7bn (US$1.5bn) in future investments. The duration of the power-purchase agreements (PPA) signed by Brazil is 15 years for wind and solar and 20 years for other sources.
Renewables account for 73% of Brazil’s installed capacity, with 143 GW, including 109 GW of hydro (57%), 21 GW of wind (11%) and 13 GW of solar (7%).
