The German federal energy regulator Bundesnetzagentur has published the results of the third dual bidding round for onshore wind and solar power projects. The tendered amount of 200 MW was oversubscribed, with 109 bids for a total volume of 719 MW. 18 bids for 211 MW of solar capacity were awarded, including 59 MW in Saxony-Anhalt, 59 MW in Brandenburg, 48 MW in Schleswig-Holstein, 33 MW in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and 10 MW in Hesse. Bids were capped at €8.75c/kWh for both technologies and the average bidding price stood at €5.66c/kWh (up from €5.27c/kWh in the latest auction). The lowest bid was €4.5c/kWh and the highest reached €6.1c/kWh.
Besides, a biomass tender was also held, offering 133 MW. Only 20 offers with a combined capacity of 27 MW were awarded. The lowest bidding price stood at €9.53c/kWh and the highest at €16.56c/kWh.
The first joint wind-solar power tender took place in April 2018 and 200 MW were available. The tender was nearly twice oversubscribed, with submissions for a total capacity of 395 MW. 32 bids for 210 MW of solar projects were selected, with an average volume-weighted aggregate value of €4.67c/kWh. The lowest bid was €3.96c/kWh, while the highest one hit €5.76/kWh. The second tender took place in November 2018 and 6 bids were selected for a total available amount of 201 MW and only solar projects eventually qualified. Ten projects will be located in Brandenburg, 6 in Saxony-Anhalt, 5 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and 4 in Schleswig-Holstein.
