The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur or BNetzA) has unveiled the results of the latest tender for combined heat and power (CHP) plants with a deadline set on 1 June 2018. 25 MW were available for innovative CHP plants (cap price of €12c/kWh) and 93 MW for the other CHP plants (cap price of €7c/kWh).
For CHP plants, 15 offers were submitted with a total volume of 96 MW and 14 bids (91 MW) were awarded. The average bidding price stood at €4.31c/kWh, while the offers ranged between €2.99c/kWh and €5.2c/kWh. 77 MW will be available during the next round, which will take place in December 2018. For innovative CHP systems, 7 offers (23 MW) were submitted and five (21 MW) were awarded. The average price stood at €10.27c/kWh (bids ranging between €8.47c/KWh and €10.94c/kWh).
In 2017, the last tender attracted 20 offers with a combined capacity of 225 MW but only 82 MW were slated despite a planned tender volume of 100 MW. The average bidding price stood at €4.05c/kWh while the minimum and maximum prices stood respectively at €3.19c/kWh and €4.99c/kWh.
