The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Argentina has received 47 bids totalling 2,486 MW in the new RenovAr Ronda 1.5 renewable energy round. A total of 600 MW was offered, in six modules of 100 MW each: four for wind projects (in the Buenos Aires, Comahue, Patagonia and other provinces) with a maximum price of US$59.39/MWh and two for solar projects (100 MW in the Noroeste Argentino and 100 MW for other areas) with a maximum price of US$59.75/MWh.
Wind projects have attracted 19 bids with a total capacity of 1,561 MW: eight projects totalling 680 MW in Buenos Aires, three projects for a total 187 MW in Comahue, five projects in Patagonia (497 MW) and three projects in the rest of the country (198 MW). Nine solar projects totalling 394 MW were proposed in the Noroeste Argentino and 19 other projects (531 MW) were proposed in the rest of the country, for a total capacity of 925 MW.
Economic bids will be opened on 23 November and projects will be awarded on 25 November 2016.
