Andhra Pradesh's tender for 6.4 GW of solar was oversubscribed (India)

Andhra Pradesh (south-eastern India) has received bids for a total capacity of 14.9 GW for its tender for 6.4 GW of grid-connected solar projects. The state-government granted 300 MW to Torrent Power, which quoted the lowest tariff of INR2.47/kWh (US$3.4c/kWh), 3 GW to Adani Green across five locations (600 MW each), 2.2 GW to Shirdi Sai Electricals, 600 MW to NTPC and 300 MW to HES Infra. The solar projects are to be developed in 10 locations in the state, including 600 MW at Chakrayapet, 400 MW at Thondur, 600 MW at Kambaldinne, 600 MW at Pendlimarri, 600 MW at Rudrasamudram, 600 MW at CS Puram, 600 MW at Uruchinatala, 1,200 MW at Akmbadur, 600 MW at Mudigubba, and 600 MW at Kolimigundala. The objective is to supply farmers with quality power and ensure that they get 9 hours of free electricity per day.
