Actis has launched Yeltica Energy, a new renewable energy platform in Mexico targeting more than 2 GW of solar, wind and battery storage capacity (Actis press release, 17/09/2026).
The platform is anchored by three solar-plus-storage projects awarded under the first Mixed Investment Tender organised by Mexico’s state power utility CFE. The projects comprise around 330 MWp of solar PV capacity and 255 MWh of battery storage. They benefit from 25-year power purchase agreements with CFE, providing US dollar-denominated and inflation-indexed revenues.
According to Actis, Yeltica Energy aims to expand beyond its initial portfolio through participation in future Mexican tenders and proprietary project development. Actis currently owns the 3.2 GW Valia Energia gas platform and states that it has owned a cumulative 7.3 GW of generation capacity in Mexico since entering the market, until it exited Zuma Energia, Saavi Energia and Atlas Renewable Energy.
Mexico is seeking to mobilise private investment in the power sector under its Plan Mexico reforms. The country’s Power Sector Development Plan (PLADASE 2025-2039) targets to increase its clean generation share in the power mix to 38% in 2030 and 48% in 2039 (Enerdata’s Global Energy Research).
